• Spend data: Transaction amounts, categories, and merchants you log within the app.
• SMS / Gmail access: If you grant permission, we read transaction SMS messages or Gmail emails solely to auto-import spend data. This data is processed on-device and is not uploaded to our servers.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• Crash reports and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to help us fix bugs.
• Analytics events (page views, feature usage) to improve the app — no personally identifiable financial data is included.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email address.
• If you connect Gmail, we receive read-only access to transaction-related emails.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide credit card recommendations and spend analysis.
• To power the AI voice assistant with your real spend context.
• To calculate and display Virel Coins, milestones, and savings.
• To send service-related notifications (low-balance alerts, new features).
• To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• To comply with applicable laws and regulations.

3. Affiliate Links & Commissions

Virel's website and app contain affiliate links to third-party services including (but not limited to) credit card applications, flight and hotel booking platforms, food delivery services, medicine delivery apps, cab booking services, investment platforms, and insurance providers.

When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action (such as applying for a credit card or making a booking), Virel may earn a commission from the third-party partner. This commission comes at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our card recommendations or editorial content. We recommend products based on objective reward-rate data.

Third-party websites and services linked from Virel have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Firebase (Google) for authentication and crash analytics; Gemini API for AI assistant responses. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Spend data and card details are stored locally on your device using secure encrypted storage.
• We use industry-standard security measures (TLS encryption, Firebase security rules) to protect data in transit and at rest.
• No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please report it to support@getvirel.co.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen. On deletion, we remove your data within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Virel is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
